Sara Bizzoca

 

Born in Barletta, Italy, Sara Bizzoca graduated from "Folkwang Universität der Künste" (Essen, Germany) in 2009, under Lutz Forster, Malou Airaudo, Dominique Mercy and choreographer Rodolpho Leoni. Sara participated in contemporary dance and contact improvisation masterclasses with Juan Kruz. During her studies she had the opportunity to collaborate with choreographers Urs Dietrich and Stefan Brinkman and to perform repertoire of technique Limon "Choreographic Offering".

 

From 2006 to 2010 Sara worked with the choreographer Fang-Yu Shen (Smuschroom Kong, Double Fiesta and 5seconds). In 2010 she took part in a show by Bianca Sere Pulungan called "White Lies" (Rhubhune Theater Essen). In 2011 she created her first show "Zap-ping" which was performed in the festivals "Danzarte" (La Tana Barletta) and "East-West" (Rovereto).

 

Since 2009, Sara has worked with "Koreoproject" (a company directed by Giorgia Maddamma) where she danced in "Nina", "Trilogy's Journey" (based on stories by Enzo Quarto and directed by Teresa Ludovico) and "Apulie Art Festival" (music by Umberto Sangiovanni). In July 2011 she took part in the project PLOTS with the performance "The Passion of the Trojan Women", directed by Giorgia Maddamma and Salvatore Tramacere, performed in Theatre Koreja (Lecce, Italy), Mercury Theatre (Colchester England), Youth Cultural Center (Skopje, Macedonia), Dramatic Puppet Theatre (Pazardzhik, Bulgaria ), Helen Modjeska Theatre (Legnica, Poland).

 

In April 2012, Sara became assistant choreographer the National Theatre of Tirana production "Henry VI" (directed by Giorgia Maddamma) and she performed at the International Shakespeare Festival (Globe to Globe London). In June 2012, together with "Koreoproject", she presented "Piaf and Marlene" at the second edition of "Azioni in Danza". In December the same year, she participated in the video "The History of Tears" (directed by Giampiero Borgia), part of the project sponsored by the European Community "Watershed", revisiting the work of Jan Fabre "L Histoire des larmes". In 2013 Sara collaborated with the artist Raffaele Fiorella presenting "Unseen" at the theater "La Tana", Barletta.

 

Sara is currently specializing in dance therapy in Lecce, Italy.
