Bianca Sere Pulungan

 

Bianca Sere Pulungan started her education in dance in 1989, at the Ballet Sumber Cipta in Jakarta, Indonesia. In1998 she began to learn modern technique and then performed modern and contemporary pieces for the company Kreativität Dance Indonesia. She danced in yearly productions for the company, performing pieces from Indonesian and International choreographers such as Jecko Siompo (Indonesia), Joh Seong Joo (Korea), Maxine Heppner (Canada) and Adriaan Lutiejn (Netherlands Dance Company `Introdans`).

 

In 2003 Bianca performed her first duo piece ‘Bingkai-Bangkai’ in Theater Utan, Kayu Jakarta, and 2004 her second piece ‘Martini’ in Goethe Haus, Jakarta. In 2005 she was and Indonesian representative to travel to Japan for a collaboration project, workshop and performance for Asia-Europe Dance Forum in Tokyo. From 2006-2009 she studied dance in Folkwang Universität der Künste, Esseng, Germany. During her studies she worked with well known teachers such as Lutz Förster, Dominique Mercy, Malou Airodou, Rodolpho Leoni, Jeanette Panetta, Juan Kruz, and David Sambrano. As a dancer she worked with choreographers such as Stephan Brinkmann, Urs Dietrich and Henrietta Horn. In 2009 she made a dance film using one of her early pieces “Martini”, screening at 638 KiloTanz Festival in Essen.

 

In 2010 Bianca  represented Essen as a choreographer for the exchange program “6 days run”. This program included the cities Madrid, Luzern, and Essen, and each choreographer traveled to each city to create a piece in 6 days with the local dancers and the result was performed in all three cities. In the same year Bianca made a solo “FORGO” and a one evening ensemble piece “White Lies”. Recently, she danced for Fang-Yu Shen (a choreographer from Essen) as part of the "Tanzmesse 2012" in the piece ”For the Unsaid” in Fabrik Heeder, Krefeld. In 2013 she created a short dance film for "Sacre/ilège(s)" (The Rite of Spring collage project), which was screened at the festival "International de Vidéo Danse de Bourgogne Videorodeo Essen".
