Dominik Kleinknecht

 

 

 

 

 

Dominik Kleinknecht, born in 1988 in Southern Germany, studied music informatics and musicology at the University of Music, Karlsruhe. During his studies he explored the possibilities of electronic music as a musicologist, composer and performer, being a part of the laptop ensemble "Faistos" with whom he performed on various occasions like "The next_ generation festival", Karlsruhe.

 

Dominik worked for the Institute of Music and Acoustics at the Centre for Arts and Media, Karlsruhe where he gained experience in sound design, sound engineering and recording, while working on various productions in a professional environment. In 2012 he recieved a scholarship with the International Ensemble Modern Academy and studied contemporary music and sound design at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Frankfurt am Main. As a sound designer and sound engineer he worked with various composers and took part in different European festivals, such as Beethovenfest, Bonn; Donaueschinger Musiktage; Cresc Biennale, Frankfurt; Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Utrecht; Black On White, Manchester; and the Weingartener Tage für Neue Musik.

 

Since October 2013 he works for the Experimentalstudio of the SWR radio station in Freiburg, Germany.
